Bravé #1
In crystallography, «Bravais nets» specify how the basic units (atoms, molecules and compounds) that form solid cristallyne systems repeat periodically throughout their volume, by an infinite layout of discreet points, with an invariant structure under certain number of relocations. Most of the times, they stay invariant / symmetrical also under rotation movements. Bravais nets are built from the seven crystalline systems, linking them with a series of points (nodes) in the vertices and in the center of their space or their faces.
«Bravais nets» are named after French mathematician and mineralogist Auguste Bravais (1811 – 1863) who formulated Reticular Theory of Tridimensional Placement of Crystalline Molecules.
